The Premier convenience store near Caversham Bridge, next door to The Gorge Cafe, opened in 2023.
It is situated near the Reading Festival site in Richfield Avenue and is within a 10-minute walk from the main site entrance.
Caversham Road, the street the store is located in, is one of the busiest in the town, home to a range of takeaways and shops.
It becomes particularly busy during the festival, as tens of thousands of revellers walk between the train station and town centre and the site.
The Premier is currently open from 6am to 11pm each day.
Now the new owner has applied to sell alcohol until midnight each night in an application to Reading Borough Council.
A statutory consultation into the application is currently live.

If the application was granted, that would allow the store to sell alcohol until midnight to Reading Festival goers, as well as regular customers.
The building Premier occupies was previously home to Thames Valley Printers & Cartridges Ltd, which was closed by April 2023.
It was turned into a convenience store by the company Nimal & Sons later that year.
However, the Premier was sold to a new owner around a year ago.
Attempts have been made to contact the current owner about the application.
