New Asian restaurant gearing up to open in Reading

The Village, formerly known as King’s Walk, is located at the start of King Street.

Units in the mall are starting to fill up, with an Asian food company called JeiLi Restaurant due to take over Unit 7 of the mall.

The unit is located between My Warsaw Polish street food and the Banh Mi QB Vietnamese restaurant on the ground floor.

No external work on the unit has taken place yet, with advertising for a bar restaurant remaining.

Ahead of opening, JeiLi Restaurant has applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises from 11am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.

The application has been submitted to Reading Borough Council’s licensing department.

The Village is currently occupied by Pho Vietnamese street food, The Soju Korean bbq, Ji the Chicken Shop, My Warsaw Polish street food and the Banh Mi QB, High Spirits Cocktail Company and The Churros Kitchen, which are all on the ground floor.

The Little Dessert Shop previously occupied one of the front units of The Village was put up for sale last November and is unoccupied.

Upstairs, there is the Escape Hunt escape room and Chilis Indian buffet restaurant.

A fellow Indian restaurant called Bombay Brothers is set to occupy in the old Dolce Vita Italian restaurant unit, but has not opened yet.
