Space for a café restaurant within the Huntley Wharf development is due to be turned into four two-bed flats.
The space in the Discovery House building was originally due to be spread across two floors at ground level.
However, Berkeley Homes applied to create four two-bed flats out of ‘void space’ at one of those floors.
Planning officer Jonathan Markwell judged the changes would ‘not significantly compromise the attractiveness of the unit to potential future occupiers’, with the project being approved on July 1.

The charging points will be situated opposite the B&Q store within the retail park.
The electric charging bays will replace 14 standard spaces.
Planning officer Huimin Chen stated that charging provision for electric cars helps tackle poor air quality, with the new points being approved on June 27.

An old research and development facility run by aerospace company Thales will be replaced with an industrial unit.
The plan by Triton Property involves the demolition of the existing building in Worton Drive, with a two-storey industrial building.
The project was unanimously approved by councillors at a meeting last year, subject to a section 106 developer legal agreement being reached.
Triton Property signed the legal agreement with the council on June 24.

132 Oxford Road, Reading, the beige building to the left, is due to be converted into five flats.
A vacant office building near Reading town centre is due to be converted into five flats.
The building, 132 Oxford Road, is a three-storey vacant office building.
Planning officer Matt Burns judged that the application met the requirements for conversion into habitable accommodation, with the project to convert it into five one-bed flats being approved on June 27.
A similar plan to convert the Matinee recording studio at 134 Oxford Road into six flats was refused in January.
