Boom Battle Bars are venues which host a range of fun activities including axe throwing, along with drinks and a menu of street food, wings and burgers.
The company -which currently has 30 locations in the UK and one in Dubai- has had hopes to open in Reading for years.
Now Boom Battle Bar could be opening at the former Revolution bar in Station Road, according to a report by Alan Bunce of UK Property Forums.
The report states: “The brand has not responded to our request for confirmation but we understand a deal has been done and work has begun on the roof with fit-out due to get under way imminently.”

Revolution closed in January last year after a £250,000 plus upgrade in November 2022. The bar in Beaconsfield also closed in January 2024.
Boom Battle Bar has not submitted a planning application or licensing application to Reading Borough Council yet.
A planning application will be required for its branding.
The Revolution company retains its Revolucion de Cuba restaurant and bar in Friar Street, winning permission to stay open until 2am from Thursday to Saturday.
The company closed 11 bars according to a report in The Mirror last year, and its bar in Bath last November.
Boom Battle Bar was previously hoping to occupy the former Lakeland unit at the Minster Street entrance of The Oracle Shopping Centre.
The business won consent to open until 12.30am on Sunday to Thursday and 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays at a licensing applications sub-committee meeting in November 2021.
However, it is understood the company’s plan to open there fell through.
Ultimately, the Loungers company which owns Cosy Club received consent to open until 1.30 am from Thursday to Saturday and 12.30 am Sunday to Wednesday from councillors last December.
